it's 2:00 PM and your day has completely derailed, and you're feeling like you're drowning in chaos. What if I told you that in just 60 seconds you could hit the reset button and reclaim control? In this episode of Thrive in Five, I'll teach you a simple technique that stops the spiral and gets you back on track fast
Speaker 3:Welcome back to Thrive in Five, where I give you a quick burst of motivation and productivity in five minutes or less. I'm Cindy, your host, a self-made entrepreneur, busy mom, and a business coach. I've built and sold several digital businesses ranging from five to six figure successes. So when it comes to managing time and priorities in both life and work, I get it. I've been there and I am here to help you thrive.
Let's talk about those moments when everything feels like it's falling apart. Maybe it's back to back meetings that ran over your inbox is exploding, your kids are melting down, and you haven't even looked at your priority list. Your brain is in panic mode. Your stress is through the roof, and you are reacting instead of responding. Here's what's happening. When you are in chaos mode, your nervous system is. Hijacked you are running on adrenaline and cortisol, which makes everything feel urgent and overwhelming. But the good news here is that you can interrupt this cycle in just one minute. The technique is simple. Stop, breathe, choose wherever you are, whatever you're doing, literally stop. Don't finish the email, don't answer the call. Don't keep rushing. Just stop. Take three deep breaths in through your nose, out through your mouth. This isn't about relaxation. It's signaling to your brain that you are safe and you are in control. Next, ask yourself one question. What is the most important thing I need to do right now? Not everything that feels urgent, not 20 things on your to-do list. Just one thing. Your brain will want to give you multiple answers, but push for just one. This question cuts through the noise and helps you focus on what actually matters. Then commit to that one thing for the next block of time. Maybe it's the next 30 minutes. Maybe it's the next hour, but you are going to do that one thing with full focus. Everything else can wait. This isn't about being perfect. This is about being intentional. This works because when you are overwhelmed, the problem isn't that you have too much to do. It's that you're trying to do everything at once. This one minute reset breaks the pattern. It moves you from reactive chaos. Into intentional action. I use this technique constantly and I teach it to all my clients. One entrepreneur recently told me that she uses it between every client call that she has another uses it when her kids get home from school and her workday needs to shift. It's not about having more time. It's about using the time you have more effectively. If you wanna try this today, here is your challenge. The next time you feel overwhelmed or scattered, set a timer for one minute. Stop wherever you are, stop what you're doing, and take three breaths. Ask yourself, what is the most important thing right now? Choose that one thing and commit to it for the next time. Block. That's it. You don't need to have a perfect day to be productive. You just need to know how to reset when things get chaotic. One minute is all it takes to shift from surviving your day to leading it. You've got this.
