summer break is here. And if you are a mom trying to run a business while keeping kids fed and entertained, you're probably feeling like the productivity has just went out the window. In this episode of Thrive and five, I'll show you how to stay on track with your goals, even when your schedule looks like complete chaos. Let's talk about something every parent entrepreneur faces. It's how to keep your business moving forward when summer break turns your routine upside down. The truth is you don't need to choose between being present with your kids and making progress on your goals. You just need to work smarter, not harder. The mistake most of us make is trying to maintain our regular work schedule During summer break, we set ourselves up for frustration and guilt when we can't focus for three hour blocks while the kids are asking for snacks every five minutes. But what if I told you that summer break could actually make you more efficient? So here's what I want you to try. Embrace the power of mini productivity instead of waiting for long stretches of time that may never come, break your important tasks into 15 minute chunks. Respond to emails while the kids eat breakfast. Write that social media post during a quiet time. Make a client call while they're watching a movie. These small pockets add up to real progress. Build in flexibility to your non-negotiables. Yes, you still need to identify your top priorities, but now you need multiple ways to achieve them. Maybe your content creation happens at 5:00 AM one day and 9:00 PM the next day. Maybe client calls shift to early mornings or late evenings. The key is protecting what matters while being flexible about when and how it happens. My favorite strategy is called Summer Systems. So I create summer systems that work with my family life and not against it. So this means batching similar tasks together so you can knock them out quickly. Prep content in advance during school hours so that you're not scrambling later. Set up automatic systems wherever possible. And here's the game changer. Involve your kids when appropriate, they can help with simple tasks or even inspire content about balancing work and family. This works because when you stop fighting the season and start working with it, you eliminate the stress of trying to force square pegs into round holes. You are not failing at time management. You are adapting to a different rhythm. I've seen clients actually have their best months during summer break because they got so efficient with their time, they stopped wasting energy on guilt and started focusing on what moved the needle. If you're ready to implement this today, here's your action plan. List your three most important business activities and break them into 15 minute tasks. Next, identify three different times of the day that you could potentially work. Even if it's just 20 minutes. And finally, choose one system that you can set up this week to make your summer workflow smoother. Remember, staying on track during busy seasons isn't about perfect schedules. It's about smarter adaptations. You can still be an amazing mom and crush your goals. And remember, you've got this.
