waiting to feel motivated before taking action. In this Thrive five, you'll learn why momentum, not motivation is the true key to progress and how to build it. Starting today with small, simple steps,

Speaker:

Welcome back to Thrive in Five, where I give you a quick burst of motivation and productivity in five minutes or less. I'm Cindy, your host, a self-made entrepreneur, busy mom, and a business coach. I've built and sold several digital businesses ranging from five to six figure successes. So when it comes to managing time and priorities in both life and work, I get it. I've been there and I am here to help you thrive.

let's talk about the difference between motivation and momentum and which one actually helps you hit your goals. Here's the truth. Motivation is unreliable. It's like that burst of energy you feel after watching an inspiring reel or starting a new planner. It gets you excited, but it rarely sticks along long enough for you to get across the finish line. Momentum, on the other hand, is built. It's not a feeling, it's a rhythm. It comes from taking action again and again. Even when you don't feel like it, if you've ever said, I just can't get motivated, here's what I want you to remember. You don't need motivation. You need to create movement. Here's how to shift into a momentum mindset. First start ridiculously small. Like so small it feels silly. Fold one piece of laundry. Write one sentence. Open the project tab. That micro action is your ignition switch. It sends a signal to your brain that says, we're doing this, and that's all you need to move from stuck to started. Second, track your movement, not perfection. We lose momentum when we expect perfect consistency, but if you can create a pattern, say three days on one day off, you are still building momentum. Progress is progress. The goal isn't never skip a day. The goal is don't stay stuck. Third use cues to keep your momentum going. This could be setting your clothes out the night before, leaving your journal open on your desk, or using music or a timer to trigger your next task. Your environment is either helping you build momentum or silently sabotaging it, make it work for you. This works because motivation is fleeting, but when you build momentum, you create energy. Even on days when you don't feel like it, and the more consistent your actions, the more confident and capable you feel that confidence fuels more action and suddenly you are unstoppable. If you wanna implement this immediately, here are your action steps. Pick one small action that you can take on right now. Literally two minutes or less. Set a visual or physical cue for tomorrow to help you keep going. Track your streak. Use a habit tracker checklist or sticky note, and don't wait to feel ready. Let the doing, create the feeling. Motivation might give you the spark, but momentum is what builds the fire. You've got this. Keep going.
